Vacuuming

A standard vacuum tanker typically consists of a vehicle with a sludge tank of 10-12 m³ and a jetting pump with a capacity of 50-60 litres/min. Common uses include emptying sand traps, oil separators, grease separators and other substances mixed with water. In ADR specification, these vehicles are also used for liquid hazardous waste.

Vacuum trucks are often used in places that cannot be accessed by excavation machinery, such as indoors or beneath buildings. Vacuum trucks are also widely used to locate buried cables and pipes – without digging – in order to minimise the risk of damaging them. Vacuum trucks have a high suction capacity and can therefore extract both dry and heavy materials such as gravel, stone and clay. The vehicle can also blow gravel back into trenches or onto roofs at heights of up to 70 metres.

A combination vehicle is a vehicle capable of both wet suction and flushing. Typical applications include the emptying of sand traps, oil separators, grease separators and other materials containing water. It is also used for flushing and cleaning gullies and pipelines with internal diameters of 30–2000 mm. Different pumps, nozzles and water tanks provide specific capabilities and specialisations for each individual vehicle. This means the vehicle can be used for mountain cleaning, flushing road surfaces and larger open spaces. Most combination vehicles are built on large lorry chassis, but we also have small specialised vehicles for access to confined spaces. We also have a larger vehicle that recycles the flushing water. This is cost-effective for larger areas and long distances from water filling stations.

Specialised flushing vehicles differ from multi-purpose vehicles in that they are fitted with pumps and nozzles for specialised cleaning in industrial and domestic settings, often operating at very high pressures and with small pipe diameters. These vehicles have small tanks and are therefore unable to suck up significant amounts of water or other materials. They are particularly suitable for flushing and cleaning pipes.
